10 Reasons Why I Couldn't Possibly Go To The Gym Today

"I have never made up an excuse for not going to the gym" - said no one ever.

If at any point in your life you've joined a gym, then you'll probably know what I'm talking about when I say gym excuses. We've all been there; maybe it's raining, maybe it's not; maybe the sun is shining, it's a lovely day and you just can't be bothered. Well, I joined my local gym slightly over a month ago and I can safely say that I have probably used each and every one of these excuses at least once. Sometimes I've managed to convince myself out of it, but other times my darling mum has had to step in with a brutally honest comeback (she's good at those). Today I'm going to share with you my (sometimes very blunt) comebacks to the most classic gym excuses. You never know, it might even motivate you.

So, without further ado, I couldn't possibly go to the gym today because...:

1. My mood is a dismal 1/10 today & this will make it worse
- Exercise releases endorphins. GO GO GO.

2. All my gym clothes are in the wash
- Sorry, are all your clothes in the wash? No, didn't think so. Find something else and go to the gym.

3. I'm really hungover, all I want to do is curl up & sleep forever
- Wallowing in self-pity in your bed all day will absolutely not help (been there, done that). Go to the gym and it might actually help you to snap out of it.

4. I'll workout at home & then I lose less time
- Yeah, and you'll also lose all the motivational, hard working gym goers surrounding you.

5. I look horrible & sweaty & red
- I don't know about you, but I spend a heck of a lot more time looking up to people in the gym than I do looking down on them. If you're red and dripping with sweat then you're probably doing it right.

6. I don't want to be billy no mates at the gym
- Well, you will be billy lots of mates if you make some new friends there. 

7. I'm far too tired
- Guess what? Exercise will wake you up.

8. Someone I know might see me
- Oh, heaven forbid someone might see you working really hard to get a great body or get fit in the gym, that would be an absolute disaster...

9. It's raining & it's warm in my house
- Have you heard of an umbrella and a coat? 

10. I've already ruined my diet for the day, what's the point
- You'll still be in a better position than if you ruin your diet and don't go to the gym, that's just a lose, lose situation.

Now excuse me while I pick one of these to use today...
