My Little Box Opening // March

24 Mar 2016

You know I said that I had a My Little Box subscription for three months after Christmas? Then December, January and February followed? Well, it turns out that I accidentally on purpose renewed it and so here I am, in March, with another box. What a shame.

I had a sneaky peek at the theme of the box beforehand because I sadly have no patience and it was happy days when I saw the pastel colour scheme. We all love a good pale pink and pale blue when it comes to Spring, and 'My Little Bubble Box' for March is definitely trying to remind us that Spring is happening, despite the still freezing cold temperatures. I always love looking at the little magazine, first of all because it's so beautifully formatted and secondly, because it quite often gives you little tips about one of the products. The only downside this time was that despite being 'bubble' themed, the box did not feature a single bubble blower. Or you know those little pots you get when you're younger and can dip the weirdly shaped stick in and use it to make bubbles? Anyway whatever. Just a little bit of constructive criticism for you there, My Little Box, do with it what you will.

Along with a balloon saying 'Be Wild', the box was filled with multiple beauty treasures:

Givenchy Noir Couture Volume Mascara

My mascaras always seem to dry out before I've used up the full sized product, so I actually prefer mini sized versions. The brush is quite thick and I feel like it might be better for those looking for volume or thickening (I prefer lengthening), but I'm still really looking forward to popping it in my handbag for on the go use.

Bubble Blush Lip & Cheek Tint (My Little Box)

I love a good 2 in 1 because I'm really lazy with beauty stuff and having one product serve as two is just fantastic. One of my first luxury makeup items was Benefit's Benetint and I cherished and treasured it until I dropped it on the floor one day and it smashed. Urgh. Anyway, the weird thing about the tint in this box is that it is lavender in shade. I repeat, LAVENDER. I'm so confused right now but I will give it a go nonetheless and let you guys know what I think.

Garancia Pschitt Magique Nouveau Peau

I am truly in love with the packaging design on this cleanser. I'm pretty bad with morning face washes (did I mention how lazy I am with my beauty regime?) but this foamy cleanser feels great and looks great so I will definitely be getting through it.

Makeup Applicator Sponge - Bulle de Teint (My Little Box)

I don't really know how to use make-up sponges, nor do I use any liquid makeup products, so I may have to pass this on to someone who has more of a clue. At least it looks really cute and pretty and pink.

Two Extra Gifts

My Little Box offered two extra little gifts with each of my next three boxes if I renewed my subscription, and that is what you call a great sales technique. This little card holder from nat & nin is one of those things which could've been incredibly useless, but I just so happened to be wanting a card holder because I've reached the conclusion that my purse is far too heavy for my uni bag. The other gift was a body mist from the My Little Box brand. I don't really wear perfume much but I do love a good body mist so this was yet another great shout.

Be Cooler Hairbrush

As I am already an inspiration to anyone out there who wishes to be 'cooler', the words on this hairbrush meant nil to me. Seriously though, what does 'cool' even mean these days? I love the hairbrush anyway and think it's adorably cute in every single way, even with the words.

I'm hoping that April's box will arrive just before I go back to Leeds for my final semester (urgh!), but we'll have to see!

  1. I love your honest thoughts! No bubble blower? What an outrage!! Seriously, it's the first thing I thought of when I read the theme. The boxes do look so cute though. I'm also super lazy with anything beauty related so can recommend micellar water if you haven't tried it before. Nivea do a 3in1 micellar water so three steps in one, what more could you want :)! I'd like to try more subscription boxes this year. I like how this one has a three month option so you don't commit to a full year straight away.
